the goblin liked this site more and more, saying "...you've got talent boxman, I like your choice in pictures, and I this thread could be something, my turn then...", as the goblin posted some too

Re: Fleamailman
("...thanks, and exactly, this site is better, the heckling is dying down and people are starting to think about content again, not an easy mindset since most people want to prove themselves by putting down others here, but in the end that only wastes time because they probably want to build their own opinion and set of values, etc., and that doesn't come by putting someone down, it comes with thinking it out for oneself here..." ventured the goblin, posting something probably wrong for the place but an explanation of what the goblin was about)
the goblin was always anonymous, so really whether he was liked, hated, or whatever didn't matter to that goblin persona he always portrayed himself as, he goblin explained "...sooner or later, I am just haunted by those three questions again, "so what have you actually written for all this posting then", "and what has one learned from the replies and comments too" and "well then, what have you seen of yourself from what you have posted"...”, pausing for a moment, the goblin went back into the kitchen to make another coffee, a dull workday morning was his unavoidable encroaching reality now, so the goblin's only escape could be to cast his mind elsewhere since his family depended on his continued surrender to this present situation, to this society, and just to this living too, even if all those were just compromises on their terms for their rewards, well that much at least was unavoidably clear to him by now, "...ah but, as strange as it may sound, my mind up to a point has a choice of being "aware, unaware, here, or elsewhere", so what if I could master this choice then as something against that all too mundane reality of mine, while also slowly producing a stored body of posts somewhere that thwarts those three haunting questions again, surely that would be reason enough to post here, wouldn't it mortals..." concluded the goblin as the clock just ushered him on now to society's bidding once more, the goblin retorts to the clock "...lift anchor, rig the mind to "elsewhere" boson, and steady as she daydreams then..."

Nice explanation of an explanation of an explanation. That seems like what this thread has turned into. People explaining other people's explanations.

the goblin just smiled, saying "...actually, the virtual image of oneself in unfettered, it's just that you humans always try to stick to your real life selves here, as if bringing them onto board each time, ah but that is where you become unstuck then humans, don't you, if only because, given the nature of this Internet, there is no "time", nor "day", "age", "gender", or "place" for that matter, there is only "you" and "here" here, that's all, likewise you can't prove anything about yourselves either, you could be anyone within reason...", the slot had been looking on "...well said goblin, fancy a coffee...", "...good thinking slot..." and with that the goblin calls over to the counter "...another espresso please, for me and my laptop friend here...", while pointing to his laptop now, "...ah, sinor goblin, you are always typing, you'll lose grip with reality one day, promise, you'll go nuts big time..." replies the bistro owner's wife concerned, but the goblin's face just lit up at the thought as he puts his hands together in some praying motion and replies "...oh but yes, sounds great, and the sooner the better too..."

"the reason one has to explain one anohter's explanations is that one cannot completely grasp the fac tthat he or she fails", said the gnome, laughing. "that is why so many people in the flattering world of today do not understand when they really do suck. That is the problem of the world of today".

That is the problem of the world of today".
the gnome had a point the goblin felt, agreeing that the world of adults was one of accepted lies and flattery then, saying "...when one knows, often one doesn't want to rock to boat by pointing it out, that yes, but also one doesn't want to betray ones hidden understanding here by just giving it away in an explanation so to speak...", and yes, the goblin too, had played dumb often enough then, adding "...you see, "knowledge" in itself is nothing but mere facts here but actually understanding that knowledge is the source of authority, and it's this authority, hidden or otherwise, which lets you see the failings in others then..."

Re: Fleamailman
repost from elsewhere, the "my site is down" thread
your questions answered by an expert, yes the goblin replies, and explains "FW" in detail
Q: what is FW, and how do l I know that I have it?
A: well FW, otherwise know as "forum withdrawal", it can start with general unrest, twitching and an overall loss of ones purpose in life, though this may lead to more acute symptoms such as remonstrating with God, chewing the carpet, etc., and posting in abstention to the support forum
Q: is that serious?
A: well yes, over many years it may lead to ones death even, well that is if one doesn't die before that, or worse, there might be no more carpet, or God might hang up the phone for that matter.
Q: is it safe to be in close proximity to someone suffering from FW then, or should I contact those “homeland security” people?
A: no, leave well alone, not if you really value your sanity, but mind if you did value your sanity you wouldn't be getting the most out of your Internet usage perhaps, as admittedly insanity does seem to offer one more mileage for ones thoughts.
Q: should I wear a mask perhaps?
A: no, because everyone on the Internet wears a mask anyway, all are ultimately anonymous here since we can't prove ours Identity that is.
Q: would the multi million dollar bailout package save me from the worse effects of FW?
A: not if your spouse gets to hear of it, you'll be wanting your forum more than ever after in that case
Q: so what to be done?
A: have a backup forum, or better still run two forums that back up each other, which, of course, is something totally advisable, and advised usually by the very goblin who has forgotten to act upon his own advice again, pity.
